Rotterdam (Netherlands) was badly damaged during World War Two which resulted in a major re-building project. However unlike many other re-building projects the result is superbly inspiring. It makes a great place to visit. In the last years of the twentieth centrury many harbour activities moved out of the city towards the sea and a lot of wonderful locations by the waterside became vacant. Former warehouses that have been converted into other uses contrast wonderfully with the new architecture.

Choosing an overnight sailing enables one to arrive the following morning fresh and ready to explore thanks to a comfortable cabin.It is only a 30 minute train journey to the city centre.
